The B.C. Learning Centres for Children with Dyslexia is pleased to offer the following Scottish Rite Orton-Gillingham Tutor Training:

The Scottish Rite certified course consists of high-quality training in structured, multisensory language instruction that goes far beyond the basic level of teaching phonograms. Participants learn advanced word attack and writing skills as well as comprehension and study strategies for teaching both elementary and secondary school students with dyslexia and other language-related learning disabilities. This approach also gives participants the opportunity to learn the structure of written English, as well as systematic and multisensory teaching techniques.

ABOUT THE AOGPE: The Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators is unique in being the only organization established and authorized expressly to set and maintain professional and ethical standards for the practice of the Orton-Gillingham approach and to certify teachers and to accredit instructional programs that meet these standards.

Should you wish AOGPE Orton-Gillingham certification, two additional trainer observations and a subsequent practicum, in keeping with the Academy’s standards for application as an associate member, can be developed at the participant’s request for an additional cost. The B.C. Learning Centre for Children with Dyslexia does offer a tutor practicum to integrate the theory of the OG course into practice.
